Attention New Home Buyers

If you just bought a new home from a builder, you may be feeling anxiety, stress, anger, all kinds of emotions except happiness. Not to worry. Your first step is to make sure you become your builder’s best friend. How do you do this? Stay calm, explain your concerns, and most importantly, don’t threaten your builder with lawyers letters, retaliation, or with marching outside of their sales office with protest signs. Believe me, builders want to make their homeowners happy,  after all we are their bread and butter, so your best defense is to talk as sweetly (yes, men too) as possible. Even if you are ready to burst inside, tell them you understand that you might have to wait a bit to for your concerns to be addressed (you know how busy they are), and that you appreciate everything that they are doing for you, even if the words taste like vinegar coming out of your mouth. Trust me, the nicer you are, the more your builder will bend over backwards to help you. Remember, your builder will do everything that they are required to do, but if they find that you are easy to work with, they will go that extra mile because they enjoy working with you. Now you will be stress free, happy and have a new BFF. What could be better?

About dfconsultants

I have worked in the new home construction industry for 15 years as a Customer Care Manager. I identified a need in customer service which was not being addressed so I decided to start my own company and founded DF Consultants. We educate new home buyers in the After Sales Service process and procedures. Builders have also recognized the advantage of having DF Consultants on their team, so we work with them doing Quality Assurance Inspections (Pre-PDI's), right through to conducting professional PDI's with their purchasers. Our mission is to change the dynamics in the new home construction industry, to improve communcation between builders and their homeowners creating a strong and lasting relationship.
