The most important room in the house is the kitchen. Right? Right. This is where the family gathers, this is where many heartfelt conversations take place over a cup of coffee, and this is where all that lovely cooking and baking takes place. Sounds very yesteryear doesn’t it? Well it happens to be very current. Times don’t change when it comes to the kitchen. Oh, they may be more modern, and have all sorts of new age technology, but feelings about the kitchen remain the same.
The kitchen is still the heart and sole of the house. Remember the television show The Waltons? They all sat around that big kitchen table talking, laughing and mulling over their day. Their kitchen was the biggest room in the house, and that was because it was a sure thing that the whole family would be gathered altogether in that space more so then in any other room. It is still the same today. Even with our busy lives, and activities, it is a sure bet, that like the Waltons, families will still make an effort to make dinner time a family affair.
The kitchen is still where we sit down to catch up after a busy day. Today the only difference is, everyone pitches in at dinner time because in most cases, both parents work. This also teaches responsibility and respect for working parents. Even with this new dynamic, the outcome is always the same, family time togehter.
With our whirlwind lives, and busy schedules, it’s nice to know that our feelings about our kitchens never change no matter if they are tiny or huge. That is why so many people spend the majority of their money on making their kitchen the nicest room in the house. Consciously or unconsciously we do this not because we want the best and most gorgeous kitchen, (although that is a nice perk), but because the kitchen will always be the heart and sole of our homes, whether we are all together, sitting with a friend, or relaxing alone with a cup of tea. We love our kitchens.
