Do We Need To Move When We Retire?

During our lifetime we move at least 2 times, probably more.  When we make this decision, it is usually based on our lifestyle needs.  We need a bigger place, we don’t want to shovel snow, we want a huge backyard for entertaining, we have children.  There are many factors that go into the reasons why we make the decision to find a new home.

Then once we become empty nesters, or retirement age, we have yet another decision to make.  Do we need this big house?  Should we move down south where the weather is warmer?  Should we move into a condominium?  It can be a difficult decision to make especially if we are still living in the house where our children grew up, with all of the memories. Or it can be as easy as pie because we knew once the kids left we were downsizing.

Whatever we choose, we need to make informed decisions.  We need to think about what we want, whats important, where we want to be, and most importantly, can we afford this.  We all want to feel comfortable, worry free and happy in our golden years, and hopefully we can achieve this.  We just need to plan carefully.  I am including an article with this blog that may be helpful to those of you who are entering or have entered into retirement and need some help about making a  move. http://www.lifewhile.com/money/17479054/detail.html

About dfconsultants

I have worked in the new home construction industry for 15 years as a Customer Care Manager. I identified a need in customer service which was not being addressed so I decided to start my own company and founded DF Consultants. We educate new home buyers in the After Sales Service process and procedures. Builders have also recognized the advantage of having DF Consultants on their team, so we work with them doing Quality Assurance Inspections (Pre-PDI's), right through to conducting professional PDI's with their purchasers. Our mission is to change the dynamics in the new home construction industry, to improve communcation between builders and their homeowners creating a strong and lasting relationship.
