Macy Loves The Chrismukkah Tree

We are taking care of my daughter’s cat while she is at a placement for her Masters in Dryden Ontario for 6 weeks.  This lovely cat is very skittish because we have two dogs who just want to play with her.  She basically has stayed down stairs away from the dogs, but everything changed when we set up our Chrismukkah tree.

Macy (named after the famous Macy’s in New York), has been very intrigued with our tree.  We can’t seem to keep her away from it. Not even her fear of the dogs can keep her away from it.  She is an indoor cat so it’s not as if she really knows what a tree is. It is definitely the ornaments that have intrigued her.  The fact that they are hanging there are just too much for Macy to resist.  I have caught her swiping them with her paws, and then the other day I found her lying under the tree with an ornament tucked under her head, very close to her mouth.  She is a very quiet cat so I don’t always see her coming, I quickly realize that she is at it again when I see the tree rocking back and forth.  I keep picturing the tree falling over, and that makes me nervous.

We have made every effort to discourage Macy from going near the tree, and we finally thought that we succeeded.  Then I came into our living room and found Macy in her favorite spot.  We realized that we are fighting a losing battle

I have worked in the new home construction industry for 15 years as a Customer Care Manager. I identified a need in customer service which was not being addressed so I decided to start my own company and founded DF Consultants. We educate new home buyers in the After Sales Service process and procedures. Builders have also recognized the advantage of having DF Consultants on their team, so we work with them doing Quality Assurance Inspections (Pre-PDI's), right through to conducting professional PDI's with their purchasers. Our mission is to change the dynamics in the new home construction industry, to improve communcation between builders and their homeowners creating a strong and lasting relationship.
